Hi,
Can i have "Jobs" on MSDE .
If yes, then i want that jobs to be fired from SQL Server.
Actually what i want is to have one SQL Server, and MSDE on all other
machines. And the central SQL Server would take care of when a perticual job
is to be exicuted.
Can i do this. Will "Linked Servers" help.

How to transfer data?
I am installing MSDE, then a batch file calls osql which calls
script files to build the structure.
How can I easily transfer some table data?
I have a few tables that need some data (not a lot of data but some data in
around 8 tables).
Thanks,
ShaneHi,
Did you meant to transfer data from one MSDE SQL server to another?
then you can,
1. BCP OUT the data from source server in txt files
2. BCP IN to destination server
Have a look into the BCP command in books online.
Note:
If the data trasfer is going to happen in a single server between databases
or with in a database then you can use
Insert into table_name select col1,col2,col3... from table_a, table_b and
then conditions
Thanks
Hari

How to tell if MSDE 2000 is current & patched?
Are there ways to tell if MSDE 2000 is current and patched on a Windows 2000
SP4 server?
We have scanned it with MBSA 2.0 and it doesn't say that SQL 2000 SP4 is
needed (or that it's the latest SP available), and we are pretty sure it's
NOT at SP4 yet.
Thank for any help.

How to sync data between MSDE
Is there any article/help/doc on how to sync data between MSDE2000? I have installed MSDE on two XP machine, would like to sysnc the data bwteeen them.
Thanks
Look in the BOL about SQL Server replication.
Depending on your synchronization needs, there are a variety of options. If
you don't have the Developer's Edtion of SQL Server then I recommend that
you get it so that you can use EM to develope any replication DTS packages
you may need.

I try to EM config the replication, use one machine as distributor and publisher, but it kept tell me can not connect to server because 'distributor_admin' is not defined as a remote login at the server. Do you know how to define this user? I tried creati
ng db and windows user, wouldn't work. These two machines are in a workgroup.
In my application, one MSDE(1) is collecting data, the other MSDE(2) get the data published from the (1) and read the data only. I plan to use (1) as publisher & distributor, (2) as subscriber. these two machines are not always online. Which way to sync i
s better, push or pull?
